
Morel Mushroom Capital of Wisconsin hosts festival
The festivities kick off on Friday evening with a car cruise and various food vendors offering local delicacies.
MUSCODA, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – The village of Muscoda is set to host its annual Morel Mushroom Festival from Friday, May 16, through Sunday, May 18. Known as the “Morel Mushroom Capital of Wisconsin,” Muscoda’s festival attracts mushroom enthusiasts and visitors from across the region.
The festivities kick off on Friday evening with a car cruise and various food vendors offering local delicacies. Saturday’s events include an arts and crafts fair, a parade at 3:00 p.m., and the renowned Firemen’s Steak Feed beginning at 5:00 p.m., culminating in a fireworks display at dusk
Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, such as antique and farm tractor pulls, bounce houses, a petting zoo, and food and beverage tastings. Fresh and fried morel mushrooms will be available for purchase, celebrating the seasonal delicacy.
The festival serves as a significant event for the Muscoda community, bringing together residents and visitors to celebrate the morel mushroom season.
