Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance Hosts Clean Up Before NFL Draft.

GREEN BAY, WI- (WISS) – Green Bay will be in the national spotlight next week as the NFL Draft 2025 arrives. The Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance uses the massive event as a springboard to help clean up the Fox River Trail. 

On Tuesday, April 22, the Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance is teaming up with NFL Green to host the Preseason Pick-Up. It’s an Earth Day cleanup along the Fox River Trail to get a head start on spring litter removal.

“Even if you don’t like football – Even if you love football – If you love Green Bay. You love the Fox River. Come on out and give us a hand. And make Green Bay shine for the rest of the nation,” said Dan Beckwith, communications specialist of the Fox-Wolf Watershed Alliance.

This event offers residents a chance to take action ahead of the main Fox-Wolf Watershed Cleanup. That’s one of the largest volunteer-led environmental efforts in Wisconsin, scheduled for Saturday, May 3. Volunteers of all ages are invited to lend a hand, with supplies and safety guidance provided.

“Green Bay is about to get a lot of attention,” said Jessica Schultz, Executive Director at Fox-Wolf. “This is our home, and we want to show people what kind of community we are. One that shows up, takes care of our rivers and trails, and takes pride in where we live.” 

Even one bag of trash can prevent dozens of pieces of plastic and litter from reaching our waters—and every set of hands makes a difference.

Fox-Wolf is partnering with NFL Green, the league’s environmental program, to bring the Preseason Pick-Up to life as part of a broader commitment to sustainability in host communities.

“There’s something powerful about coming together to care for a place we all share,” said Jack Groh, Director of NFL Green, the NFL’s Environmental Program. “It’s about more than just cleaning up—it’s about being good neighbors, and that’s what this community is all about.”
