MADISON, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – The two students still hospitalized after the Abundant Life Christian School shooting are making progress in their recoveries.

Student Rubi Vergara and teacher Erin West were killed in the shooting December 16. Six people were shot, five students and a teacher. Three students and one teacher were released from the hospital shortly afterward to recover at home.

Two students are still in the hospital. The day of the shooting, they were in critical condition. Around the holidays, they were upgraded to “fair” condition, according to staff at UW Health.

Now, UW Health staff said the two students are in “good” condition. Usually, “good condition” means that someone is awake, their vital signs are stable, and they’re comfortable. According to WebMD, “good” even means that doctors expect “an excellent outcome”. It’s the lowest-severity condition report.

Going forward, UW Health does not plan to release any more updates on their conditions.
