LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLCX) – The three finalists for University of Wisconsin-La Crosse chancellor have been named.
Jay Rothman, Universities of Wisconsin President, announced the three finalists Friday.
The first finalist is James Beeby, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Keene State College in New Hampshire. The second finalist is Betsy Morgan, Interim Chancellor at UW-La Crosse. The third finalist is Christopher Olsen, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Indiana State University.
The three finalists will be on campus next week to take part in campus forums and visit with members of the UW-La Crosse community.
The Special Regent Committee will recommend one candidate to the Board of Regents. That candidate will become the 11th chancellor in UW-La Crosse history, replacing Joe Gow, who resigned and then was fired last last year.
Gow was fired for conduct damaging the UW System’s reputation, according to a release by UW in December. Gow said he was fired over making sexually explicit videos with his wife and putting them online.
The final recommendation to become UW-La Crosse’s next chancellor will be made later this month, according to the university. Community and campus forums will be held March 4-6 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Strzelczyk Great Hall in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center at UW-La Crosse.
