MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – The University of Wisconsin-Madison said that a student died outside of a residence hall Monday.
According to a message sent to University students and staff, the student died outside of Smith Residence Hall, which is located on North Park Street near LaBahn Arena and The Kohl Center in Madison.
The UW Police Department and Dane County Medical Examiner are investigating the death, but said they do not suspect foul play.
“While there is no threat to campus safety, we want to acknowledge that this loss will continue to be felt by our community and to offer support resources available as you process what you may have seen, heard, or be experiencing,” the message said.
The University is offering resources for students and staff to use for support:

On social media, the University tweeted, “We are deeply saddened by yesterday’s tragedy on campus and want to offer support resources available as you process what you may have seen, heard or may be experiencing. Remember: You are not alone.”
